Funky Pylons
Art by Ian Eskander (2023)
Some of my earliest memories were driving down the Hollywood freeway and observing transmission towers and pylons in the distance. My imagination would run wild at the sight of these towering metal structures. They were giant alien robots, about awaken, ready to climb the Hollywood Hills, crushing cars and homes underfoot. I was 5 or 6 years old at the time, and hadn’t yet read War of the Worlds.
